Promoting Friendship among Quilters since 2003
The Mother Lode Quilters Guild (MLQG)
was formed in 2003 to "preserve and continue the traditions, culture, and history
of quilting." The guild holds general meetings once a month in Sutter Creek, a
quaint town on Historical Highway 49 in the Mother Lode area of northern California.
Our goal is to promote friendship among those interested in quilting, and increase their
knowledge and appreciation of quilts. To this end, the guild offers educational
programs and workshops with local and nationally known quilting teachers, and puts
on a quilt show every two years. Most of our functions are held in the
evenings or on weekends to accommodate working members.
We welcome every person interested in the art of quilting, and
encourage the artistic expression of every member of our guild. If
you are new to the area or just visiting, stop by and
visit with the newest quilting guild in Amador County.
The MLQG is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. The guild
welcomes donations of quilting fabric and materials. These donations may be tax
deductible, consult your tax advisor for information.
